Homesteading for Clean Water- a Farm Table Conservation Series

June 22 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Are you a gardener, homesteader, or small farmer? Join Friends of Northern Lake Champlain and the Georgia Conservation Commission for an educational evening focused on water-friendly out practices that prevent harmful runoff and retain vital nutrients on your land. Guest speakers from UVM Extension’s Northwest Crops & Soils Program, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, & Markets will present on topics including watershed science, soil health, simple conservation practices, and Vermont’s new water quality legislation. We’ll go in-depth about how Act 64, the new TMDL, and the Required Agricultural Practices apply to you and your farmstead.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Each attendee will be entered into a raffle to win a FREE soil test.

Light, local refreshments will be provided.
