Bike for the Lake 2017

Do your part for clean water, get some great exercise, connect with friends, and experience some of Vermont’s most stunning scenery all at the same time this summer at our annual Switchback Bike for the Lake supported ride! Funds raised from this event will support the work of Friends of Northern Lake Champlain on projects prevent nutrient pollution and ensure that we can still enjoy this natural treasure for many generations to come!

What’s that green you see in that corn field? A COVER CROP!! According to UVM Extension, in the past decade farmers in Vermont have been adopting this conservation practice. 10 years ago Heather Darby estimates there were only 50 acres in cover crop and today there are over 12,000 acres with a cover crop.
